Walsall will hold talks with Jago Godden and his representatives as his loan spell at Drogheda United nears its conclusion. Head coach Lee Grant confirmed the club plans to make a collective decision on the 22-year-old's next steps closer to the end of his loan in November.
Godden joined Walsall from Bedford Town in February and was immediately loaned to Drogheda United, a club also owned by Trivera. The New Zealand forward has made 30 appearances for the Irish side, scoring twice and providing two assists. He scored the winner on his debut at Galway United.
Club decision pending
"I think it's one where him and all of us as a football club sit down," said Lee Grant. "When I say all of us, that's myself, him and his representatives, Stewart [Mairs], Ben [Sadler] and everybody because it's a full club decision."
Godden's current deal with Walsall is an 18-month contract with an option for a further year. He began his career in New Zealand with Christchurch before moving to England and impressing at National League North side Bedford Town, where he scored four times in 11 matches.
Walsall are currently seventh in League Two with 14 points from eight games. Their recent form includes three wins and a draw from their last five matches. Their next fixture is away to Fleetwood Town on 10 October.
