Walsall U18s Outline Pre-Season Fixtures

Walsall Under-18s have announced a packed pre-season schedule that includes matches against Birmingham City U18s, Worcester City first team, Swindon Town U18s, Motherwell, Kilmarnock, and Cheltenham Town U18s, with the aim of improving on last season’s performance and challenging for the top of the EFL Youth Alliance table.

Pre-Season Kick-Off

Walsall Under-18s have confirmed a busy pre-season programme as they look to rebound from a disappointing 2025/26 season. The young Saddlers will compete in the EFL Youth Alliance, Birmingham Senior Cup, Staffordshire Senior Cup, and Walsall Senior Cup. They will open pre-season with a match against Birmingham City U18s on Saturday, 4th July.

Mid-Season Challenges

A mid-week trip to Sixways Stadium follows on Tuesday, 7th July, where a Walsall XI will take on Worcester City’s first team. The next fixture is an away match against Swindon Town U18s on Saturday, 11th July.

International Exposure

After the Swindon game, the squad will head to Scotland. They are due to take on Motherwell and Kilmarnock, providing valuable experience against Scottish opposition.

Final Preparations

Returning to England, the U18s will conclude their pre-season preparations with a short trip to Gloucestershire, where they will face Cheltenham Town U18s on Saturday, 1st August.

The young Saddlers will need to be in top condition to compete against top EFL Youth Alliance teams. They will face a challenging campaign, but with a strong pre-season schedule, they will be well-prepared for the upcoming season. The team’s management will be looking to improve on last season’s performance and make a push for the top of the EFL Youth Alliance table.
