Walsall has signed Lewis Simper from Sutton United. The 24-year-old joins the Saddlers on a free transfer, penning a two-year deal at Bescot.
What happened?
Simper previously made 13 Football League appearances for Cambridge United before gaining experience through several loan spells in non-league football. He then spent two years at Sutton, where he scored 19 league goals.
Why it matters for Walsall
The attacking midfielder spoke with new Walsall boss Lee Grant via Zoom a few weeks ago and believes he is a perfect fit for the head coach's plans at the club. “I’m really hungry to be the best player that I can,” Simper said.
What comes next?
Simper follows Andy Dallas through the door at Walsall. The 26-year-old also joined the Saddlers as a free agent following the end of his contract with Barnsley. | Player | Age | Position | | Lewis Simper | 24 | Attacking Midfielder | | Andy Dallas | 26 | Forward
