Walsall Football Club Expands Local Radio Reach
Walsall Football Club's home stadium, Bescot Stadium, hosted the launch of Black Country Radio on the new Walsall DAB multiplex, marking a significant expansion of local radio reach and community engagement. The event was attended by charities, community organisations, and the Mayor of Walsall.
Black Country Radio provides music, presenters, local news, and community information, while sister service Black Country Xtra gives local people, charities, and organisations opportunities to create programmes and develop radio skills. Station Director Dave Brownhill said, "Launching on the new Walsall DAB multiplex means we can reach thousands of potential new listeners who may not have discovered us before."
As Walsall Football Club continues to compete in League Two, currently sitting 13th with 65 points from 46 games, recent form LLWLL, the club is also investing in local community initiatives. The new radio multiplex will allow Black Country Radio to deliver music, local stories, and community programming to listeners across Walsall.
Keith Horsfall, Chairman of parent company Waterfront Media CIC, said, "Broadcasting on the Walsall DAB multiplex allows us to extend that mission to even more people, and we're looking forward to building lasting relationships throughout the borough."
