Walsall FC have signed goalkeeper Tom Wooster on a one-year deal with the option of a further year. The 20-year-old shot-stopper joins the Saddlers from West Ham United, where he made 14 appearances for the Hammers' under-21s and registered four clean sheets.

Wooster started his footballing journey at Barnsley, where he rocketed through the ranks and was even tipped to become the Tykes' future No 1. He was named Academy Player of the Year during his final season in 2019-20 and earned two caps for England under-15s against Republic of Ireland and Belgium respectively.
Why it matters for Walsall
The signing of Wooster provides cover and competition for Jed Ward, who has kept back-to-back clean sheets since joining earlier in the window from Bristol Rovers. Walsall have been in need of a back-up goalkeeper following Sam Hornby's departure to National League North side Hednesford Town.
